-

West Arizona-
- Colorado-New Mexico-Nevada-Utah). To obtain installation instructions
for other PeopleFinder CD-ROM
- products, please switch to the "How To
Install" WEB page. )
-
-
- TO INSTALL THE PEOPLEFINDER WEST CD-ROMs:
-
- First, determine the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive, and the drive
letter for the hard drive on which
- you will be installing the PeopleFinder software. You will need this
information when you first run the
- PeopleFinder "INSTALL" program. (Note: you will need approximately
ten (10) Megabytes of free space
- on the selected hard drive.)
-
- Next, run the "INSTALL" program contained in every PeopleFinder
CD-ROM. The easiest way to
- activate this program is by temporarily quitting Windows and going
to your computer's DOS prompt.
- (Under Windows 3.x you should go to your "Main" folder, and
click on "MS-DOS ". Under
- Windows 95, use your "Start" button to navigate directly
to "MS-DOS".) If you are unfamiliar with
- this procedure, please consult your Windows' manual.
-
- To run the PeopleFinder "INSTALL" program once you are at
a DOS prompt, first switch to the letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive's
prompt. (The following example would apply if your hard drive was
- labeled "D" and your CD-ROM drive was labeled "F".)
-
-
- Then, at your CD-ROM drive's DOS prompt, type "INSTALL" (as
shown in the following example).
-
-
- The "INSTALL" program will first ask you to identify the
letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive, and will then ask you to identify
the letter assigned to your hard drive.
-
- Once you have provided that information, the PeopleFinder software
will automatically be installed on the
- hard drive that you selected, and a directory will also be created
on your hard drive to hold the PeopleFinder software. Although you can
name the directory anything you wish, it is recommended that you keep the
default directory names (ie. "PFWESTCA" for PeopleFinder West
- California).
-
- During the installation process, the "INSTALL" program will
keep you notified of its progress.
- Installation typically will not take more than 60 seconds.
-
- After the installation process has been completed, you will see a message
screen appear, confirming
- that installation has been successful.
-
- After successfully installing either PeopleFinder West on your computer,
you will
- need to obtain a special "Activation Key" which
will allow you to unlock and use
- your software.
-
- To obtain your unique "Activation Key", you must first
run the software that you have
- just installed from the computer on which you intend to run the
CD-ROM.
-
- To run the PeopleFinder software, first switch (back) to the drive
into which the software
- was installed...
-
- ...then transfer to the directory into which the software was installed
(the below example
- may not apply)...
-
-
- ...and type the appropriate program name (the below example may
not apply)...
-
-
- The first time that you start the PeopleFinder West software, and
attempt to process
- a "search", you will see a screen providing you
with a "SITE CODE" and asking you
- to enter an "AUTHORIZATION KEY". (See example below.)
-
-
-
- You must now obtain an "Authorization Key" with which
to unlock your copy of
- PeopleFinder West.
-
- Your "AUTHORIZATION KEY" will be unique, and will work
only with the one
- computer which has generated the "Site Code".
-
- To obtain your "Authorization Key", please fax (to 1-212-858-5720)
or email the
- following information to Pallorium, Inc. :
-
- While waiting for your "Authorization Key" you may quit
out of the PeopleFinder
- software, or may leave it running. Your "Site Code" will
not change.
-
- After you have obtained your "Authorization Key", simply
enter that "Authorization
- Key" into the appropriate location in the "Unlock Program"
dialog box (as shown in
- the below example).
-
-
-
- If you have successfully "unlocked" your PeopleFinder
disc, you will see the
- following message.
-
-
- Finally, to run the PeopleFinder software, again switch to the directory
into which the software
- was installed (the below example may not apply)...
-
-
- ...and type the appropriate program name (the below example may not
apply)...
-
-
- If you are running Windows 3.x or Windows 95, it is recommended that
you create an icon or a shortcut
- for each PeopleFinder program, so that it can be run from the desktop.
Consult your Windows manual if you are unfamiliar with this procedure.
-
- As your PeopleFinder has not been programmed with any "meter"
or expiration date, usage is unlimited.
-
- We recommend that you register your purchase
as soon as possible, so that you can
- receive notification of upgrades and discounts available only to
registered PeopleFinder
- purchasers. You can register right now,
or by telephone or fax.
-
- Again, thank you for your purchase, and good hunting!
-
